A little bit about who I am in the workplace …

Collaborator. I have experience in several different roles in diverse industries. As a result, I’ve acquired the “jack of many trades” label, and I think it has served me well, because it helps me appreciate what a team member might need to bring to a role. This has contributed to my growth as an effective communicator, leader, and mentor.

Influencer. In my circle of friends, I tend to be the planner who keeps us all connected. I also tend to be the organizer, arranging the events where we all regularly meet. I like to connect new people of all backgrounds, cultures, and ages, and I carry this behavior to the workplace. I like to think of it as being a “networking maven.” When I took the Clifton StrengthsFinder Assessment, I learned that ‘Woo’ (Winning others over) is one of my top five strengths. It makes sense to me, and I hope this analysis is true, “... underneath all that (the influencing) is a heightened emotional intelligence and sensitivity, as well as a pretty impressive desire and willingness to maintain relationships ... because that’s the beauty of WOO—it’s genuine.” I see that strength best used in a role that includes relationship building and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Strategic/Problem Solver. I think I give my best to whatever I'm doing. I have a positive outlook toward challenges and approach them with creativity, logic, and humor. I am fascinated by problems that puzzle, confound, or frustrate some people. I allow my mind to venture beyond the commonplace, the familiar, or the obvious. I like to hear and entertain ideas about the best ways to reach a goal, increase productivity, or solve a problem. By discussing the alternatives, it may help direct you to the most appropriate or best option possible option, but always allowing for course correction along the way.

Testimonial

Dale is one of those unique individuals who fits into any team (be it technical, strategic, or tactical), inspires her peers to deliver excellent work, gains the trust of executive level (C-suite) stakeholders, and navigates high-visibility, high-stress situations with aplomb and a calm, level-headed approach. A consummate professional and natural leader, she quickly assesses complex situations and clarifies business requirements making enormous tasks digestible for those lucky enough to collaborate with her. While we worked together on Blue Shield’s titanic website, Dale’s digital expertise in enterprise-level content management systems allowed her to jump right in as a quick study on the complex Tridion CMS and support our team where we needed it most. At the same time, her impeccable writing and attention to branding detail and style governance was instrumental in keeping our customer experience consistent and user-friendly, while aligning with stringent regulatory compliance issues. She also partnered with our Portal Rebuild Team to turn around 35 copy assets in 6 weeks, a challenging, cross-team effort with accelerated deadlines. Dale is the go-to person to get sensitive, high-level projects accomplished, especially for corporate executive communications that require a fast turnaround with minimum review. She writes with voice of the CEO; one of her beautifully crafted quotes for Paul Markovich resides on the Futures Without Violence commemorative plaque in the Presidio. You can trust that Dale proactively researches and verifies materials she handles and guarantees the integrity of her deliverables. But don’t let her unassuming demeanor fool you – she has a wicked sense of humor and authenticity, and is a talented food and wine writer and web-mistress. Chips and Dale: she is all that and a bag of chips.
